How it works

How does the word search work?

Every day the hidden words come from that night's Christmas movies: the names of their stars and a word from each title, with a few Christmas words on a quiet night. Drag across a word, or tap its first letter and then its last, and its movie appears in your list.

When is there a new word search?

Every day at 3 AM Eastern. Everyone gets the same puzzle, and there is a new one every day of the year.

Can I get a hint?

Yes. Press Hint and the first letter of a word you have not found lights up. Once every word has had one, Hint lights up their last letters too. Your hints are counted with your time.

Do the words go backwards?

Some do. Words run across, down and on the diagonals, and about one in three runs backwards.

Does it save my progress?

Yes, in your own browser. Close the page and come back later, and the words you found are still found.
