The 37th annual Treehouse of Horror episode of The Simpsons is preparing to debut with several unique creative influences. According to TV Insider, the production is drawing inspiration from Stephen King, Freaky Friday, and a segment titled The Husbands.
The episode will feature a stop-motion opening sequence. This specific animation style is inspired by the 1993 film The Nightmare Before Christmas. TV Insider notes that both that film and the theme for The Simpsons share composer Danny Elfman.
One segment reportedly involves Jeff Probst from Survivor marrying Marge Simpson, according to TV Insider.
